C. PROJECT ACTIVITIES

1.
Which project
activities have taken place so far in the school year 2005/06?
Schools have
promoted the use of ITC in the teaching/learning process in a multidisciplinary
way. Searching information and helping to produce their own learning materials
all the schools involved started to collect materials and information in order
to produce a booklet about “My School” and started their own Web Pages in two
languages, mother tongue and English. Like this schools started their
presentation to each other. From 24 to
28 October took place in Portugal, in the coordinator school the first Project
Meeting. All the schools of the partnership were present less Kindergarten
Soeding from Austria because the teacher coordinator was hill. In this meeting
partners discuss about some difficulties that they were feeling with the
Project, about the activities plan for this year and prepared the renewal for
next year. This meeting had the special attention of the local press of the town
of Marinha Grande- Portugal.
During November and
December, schools prepared materials for the Web site of the Project and send
it o the Estonia coordinator that created the web site. This site is now
available at: http://leisi.oesel.ee/Comenius/.
Schools also sent Christmas cards to
each other, using the computer to create and send them.
2. Which activities are envisaged for the remaining part of the
school year 2005/06?
In
January/February, all the schools intent to finish and have available they’re
own web pages. Involving all the subjects of the curriculum and using the
computer, schools will collect information and will produce a booklet and a CD-ROM
about “My Town”. This will be done in two languages, mother tongue and English.
Between 13 and 17 February two teachers from the Portuguese school will make a
teacher interchange in to the English school.
In
March/April each school will make the English version of each Web page.
The
subject for this period will be “My Country”, all the schools will be involved
in collecting information and producing materials about their own countries in
order to produce a booklet and a CD-ROM about it. In March will take place a
head study visit from Portugal to Greece, from Latvia to Greece and from
Estonia to Greece.
In
9 of May (Europe` s day) will take place a videoconference between all the
schools that can manage this tool. Between 15 and 19 the partner school from
Estonia will host the second Project Meeting of this Project. In the end of May
all the schools will have finish the booklet and CD-ROM about My country.
In
June schools will produce a book about “My school, my town, my country”. This
book will have a tecnic part is exposed all the steps done by teachers and
pupils in order to produce it. During the second and third terms the web site
of the project will be updated with the final products that schools are
producing.
In
July will be done de Group Report.
3. Which project activities do you intend to carry out in the
course of the school year 2006/07 and what are the expected results thereof
For the second year of the project, schools intent to follow
the calendar with the same subjects of the first year but explored in another
way. So First, each school will work About My School/My Town exploring Traditions
and History. Those activities will be worked in all the disciplines of the
curriculum of the pupils in a multidisciplinary way and trough computers, in digital
support, producing a CD-ROM All the schools will put their final works on the
web site of the project. During November and December will be explored the
subject “Winter Celebrations in Europe”- Christmas and New Year in each
country, how do they celebrate, Special Food, when the celebrations take place,
decoration, songs, and who gives the presents. Will be produced a booklet and a
CD-ROM and it will be available on the web site of the project. During
January/February/March and April all the schools will be involved in the
production of “Time Lines” about their countries focused on Culture and
Traditions. Those time lines, produced in CD-ROM, will talk about the most
important historical aspects of each country, the most important people,
monuments, art, music and clothes (different fashion in different time).
During February the Portuguese school will host a Head
teacher Visit from the partner school of Latvia and a teacher interchange from
the partner school of England. Two Portuguese teachers will make a teacher
interchange in to the Turkey school.
At nine of May (Europe` s Day) all the partners will be
involved in a videoconference were two children of each school, using
traditional clothes will present the most important aspects of each country of
the partner schools.
During May and June teachers will use the Time Lines of each
partner school as a tool inside the classroom, in a multidisciplinary way
exploring the digital materials made in cooperation with teachers, parents and
pupils in each school. The final product will be a link created on the web page
of the project were is available information about each country.
The evaluation of the project will be made in to the project
meetings, on line meetings and holding an inquiry on line to the participants.
The dissemination will be made in several ways: through the web page of the project, trough the web page of each school, on the local press, local radio, promoting exhibitions and displays in the schools and communities, on teachers meetings, on teacher training actions, trough National Agencies.
