1684 – esimeste talurahvakoolide asutamine

1739 – ilmus eestikeelne piibel
                        - the Bible in Estonian was published

1816 – Talurahvaseadusega vabastati eestlased pärisorjusest ja võeti kasutusele perekonnanimed
                        - in accordance with the law of peasantry, serfdom was abolished and family names were put into force
1851 – alustati hariduse andmist Leisis Tuulingu talus
                        - the beginning of schooling on Tuulingu farm in Leisi
1857 – ilmus Kalevipoeg – F.R.Kreutzwaldi koostatud rahvuseepos
                        - national epic Kalevipoeg was published by F.R.Kreutzwald
 
1869 – toimus I üldlaulupidu Tartus

1884 – Otepääl õnnistati Eesti Üliõpilaste Seltsi sinimustvalge lipp, millest hiljem sai Eesti rahvuslipp

24.02.1918 – kuulutati välja Eesti Vabariik

17.06.1940 – kuulutati välja Eesti Nõukoguse Sotsialistlik Vabariik, algas nõukogude okupatsioon.
                                - the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic was proclaimed; the Soviet occupation started
1950 – alustas Leisi Keskkooli I lend
                        - first graduates started their studies at Leisi Secondary School

1983 – valmis Leisi Keskkooli uus koolihoone
